Indie developer Emerick Gibson first launched Iron Required on Vapor early gain access to in March 2023: a roguelike shooter loosely motivated by Dune’s sandworms, Gibson ultimately spent around a month upgrading the video game, before apparently deserting the idea.

Two years later Gibson returned to totally release the game, make it free of charge, and share a post mortem “retrospective on a ‘failed’ project” ( thanks, GamesRadar+ And he does not sugar-coat it either: there’s “an absence of time, cash and essential concerns with the core concept, [so] I’m moving this video game out of very early gain access to, leaving it cost-free and carrying on.”
